LIGHT THIS CITY: Performance Footage Of New Song Available
August 4, 2008Capital Chaos has posted video footage (see below) of San Francisco's melodic death metallers LIGHT THIS CITY performing a new, as-yet-unreleased song on May 28, 2008 at The Boardwalk in Orangevale, California. Also on the bill were DEATH ANGEL, GOD FORBID and ARSIS.
LIGHT THIS CITY in early June announced its decision to disband. According to the group's drummer, Ben Murray, the split was caused by the fact that "the touring lifestyle and playing on stage every night, as well as making this band our entire lives and our profession had overtime become stale and anxiety-ridden for [me and singer Laura Nichol], and in the end, not enjoyable anymore. We started this band because we loved playing this kind of music and loved the release that we got out of it, and the satisfaction we got from jamming with our friends, and taking it across the country. The fact that it had not been that way for a while was enough reason for us to hang it up and leave the band as six years of amazing memories and amazing accomplishments."
LIGHT THIS CITY recorded its fourth record earlier in the year in Oakland, California with engineer Zack Ohren for a tentative fall release via Prosthetic Records. "We couldn't be more excited on how these new songs have turned out, and we are SURE that you guys will love them," Murray previously stated.
LIGHT THIS CITY took part in the In Thrash We Trust tour this past spring alongside DEATH ANGEL and GOD FORBID.
